Poetry by Jade

Abysmal (circa 1999, age 14)

All my life I wanted none
Except for dreams be true
Full of dragons who weighed a ton
And dreamy lovers too

I wanted all the mystery of love
The laughter and the tears
I wanted all the stars and wonders above
And to conquer all life’s fears

To be born a starving peasant
And die a nation’s queen
To own a magical pheasant
And amaze all when I was seen

Cold and harsh is reality
Compared to dreams that will never be
