Poetry by Annee

Strings

Eyes of diamonds,
Heart of gold,
Soul of mysteries,
StoriesĀ untold.
Voice a gentle whisper,
Mind a muddled hum,
Emotions a shapeshifter,
Dreams a beckoning thrum.
Spirit soars untethered,
A perfect pair of wings,
But wings so light and feathered
Can’t free a puppet’s strings.

Annee Clark is a seventeen-year-old aspiring writer who also enjoys acting in theater as well as singing and playing her ukulele. She began writing as a young child, starting with short stories, and is now working on a fantasy novel re-imagining the fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood called Red as well as a poetry book which will (likely) be called Freckles and Constellations.
